How to Style Fortune & Frame Pieces for Spring

Hi, I’m Hayley, the new style writer at Fortune & Frame.

I recently joined the Fortune & Frame team to complement their messages of inspiration and spirituality with all things style and fashion.

When I met the fortune cookies and lockets in person, my first questions were, naturally: “How do I wear them?” “What do I wear them with?” And, “Are they everyday jewelry, sentimental keepsakes, or both?”

I set out to figure out just how adaptable they were to a range of different looks and vibes.  Since it’s officially spring in NYC and the weather is finally starting to be bearable, I started there.  Here’s how you can, too.

As you pack away your winter gear and shed that dismal cold-weather mood, it’s time to plan your spring wardrobe and think about what the new season will bring: Easter, Passover, Mother’s Day, spending time with family, brunching with friends, setting your intentions for new beginnings and opportunities, or celebrating the end of a long, cold winter with a pre-summer vacation.

Here are some outfits we created to work with each occasion, shown with different ways to pair them with our inspirational jewelry. All clothing is from ASOS and all jewelry is by Fortune & Frame.

Go for Gingham and Gold

A vintage-inspired button-front blouse and gingham pants are perfect to wear everywhere from Easter dinner at your family’s house to work or out and about while playing tourist in your own city. The top’s puffed sleeves and tailored waist evoke a feminine feel, while the fitted cigarette pants create a streamlined look.  Nude lace-up heels elevate the look without competing with the busy print of the pants.

We paired this outfit with our Fortune Bar Pendant Necklace, which mimics the square neckline of the blouse. This gold vermeil (gold-plated sterling silver) necklace is engraved with one of our five most popular messages to date: “Dare BIG. Fear Small.”

You can choose your own quote from our available engraved pendants. It’s a great conversation-starter, especially when you’re spending the day with your loved ones and don’t want the conversation to go elsewhere (politics, your love life, etc.).

To top off the look and complement the outfit’s polished effect, we styled the model in a low bun, also showing off her earrings. She’s wearing the Fortune Cookie Earrings and smaller Fortune Cookie Studs, which are both crafted in sterling silver and finished with a beautiful 14K gold plating. Choose a Simple, Sophisticated Blue Dress

This blue button-down dress is sophisticated enough for a spring holiday dinner, yet simple enough to wear to brunch. It’s crafted in lightweight fabric and adorned with silver buttons, a belted waist and front pockets for extra comfort.

Our mini fortune bracelets, engraved with thoughtful sayings, meaningful quotes

To complete the look, we chose silver earrings, a silver necklace and our soon-to-be released mini fortune bracelets, which complement the dress’s iridescent silver buttons.  Our silver Fortune Cookie earrings are a sleek addition and coordinate with the medium Fortune Cookie Locket that graces the model’s neck.

The locket opens to reveal a fortune similar to one you’d find in an edible fortune cookie. With this versatile necklace, you can write yourself different inspirational notes and wear the one that best suits your mood. You can choose to share it with your friends and family, or keep it to yourself.

Get Pretty in a Pink Power Suit

What better way to ring in the spring than in an all-pink look?  A chic satin button-down and pants in pastel pink will take you through different moments of your life—work, play, and time with family and friends. You’ll feel on top of the world in this tailored, yet feminine look.

We paired this monochromatic suit with our silver pieces. Silver jewelry adds just the right amount of edge to a baby pink outfit. The model is wearing the Mini Fortune Cookie Pendant in sterling silver. It’s our daintiest version of this necklace, and adds just the right amount of glitz an already-shiny blouse.

The model is also sporting a few of our Fortune Cookie Rings in silver and gold-plated silver, along with our silver Fortune Cookie Earrings. Simple, yet effective. A pair of minimalist clear heels polishes off this pretty pink power suit.

Dream in Chic Florals

Rock a floral dress for a soft and feminine feel. It matches the season and is also suitable for just about any family gathering or outdoor event.

This jade green dress has a beautiful white floral print and a figure-flattering silhouette. It nips under the bust line and closes with chic fabric-coated buttons.

To finish off the look, we chose some nude pointed-toe kitten heels with stud accents. The neutral tone creates a polished vibe while keeping the eye upward toward the focal point: our beautiful Dashed Envelope Fortune Locket.

This reversible envelope locket hangs from a subtly-detailed 30” gold chain. Not only can you wear it with the envelope detailing outward or the fortune facing front, but you can also double up the chain for a unique, trendy look.

The necklace opens to reveal a paper fortune, which you can customize with whatever message is speaking to you right now. This one reads:

“Decide for yourself who you are. No one else gets to make that decision for you.”

This always-relevant message perfectly captures our belief that individuality is the most powerful aspect of the self.

Be yourself not only this time of year, but also every other day of the year.
